Communicator Awards

Competing against entries from public relations firms from all 50 states and around the world, AutoCom Associates has been honored with three "Awards of Distinction" for successful client programs from The Communicator Awards.

AutoCom Associates won two 2005 awards of distinction in for its 2005 North American International Auto Show Charity Night Preview dinner and a media program highlighting electronics and lighting technologies from Hella North America. In 2004 AutoCom Associates also received the award of distinction for the press kit it created for MANN+HUMMEL for the 2003 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) World Congress.

The Communicator Awards program, founded by communication professionals, is an international competition honoring excellence in the public relations and communication fields. The competition provides an equal chance of winning to all entrants, regardless of size or budget, and all work is judged solely on quality, creativity and resourcefulness.

About 5,000 entries are submitted to the program annually and less than 20 percent of entrants receive the award of distinction.

AutoCom's program for Hella included a technical briefing, a test-drive of vehicles equipped with Hella technology and a dinner for journalists. Radio interviews of Hella executives supplemented the print-media coverage.

MANN+HUMMEL's 2003 SAE World Congress press kit included technical releases about the automotive supplier's impulse-charging systems, air-cleaning module, oil-separation technology and filtration products. It also included business and financial releases, company background information and executive biographies.

Companies participating in the Tech Crawl included Alcan Automotive, Behr America, Gage Products Company, GKN Driveline, GKN Sinter Metals and Grammer Automotive.

Entries in APRC's award competition are judged by the marketing and communications department of the Motor and Equipment Manufactures Association (MEMA), a panel of automotive trade editors and a select group of collegiate public relations professors.
